Shared by Anne Edgar: Photos of aspens. “On his wise shoulders through the checkerwork of leaves the sun flung spangles, dancing coins.” (p.36) Photo 1 Photo 2
Shared by Anne Edgar: Mustache Cup: “The tea was drawn. He filled his own moustachecup, sham crown Derby, smiling. Silly Milly’s birthday gift. Only five she was then. No wait: four.”
It turns out even over 100 years ago, little girls gave their dads joke mugs. Photo.
Plus, it seems likely that “sham crown derby” is a knockoff of a high end porcelain. So, really, he’s drinking from a proper joke teacup to keep his moustache dry. Photo.
