Our Core Values

Diversity

We believe the workshop experience is immeasurably improved when our teaching staff and participants come from a wide variety of backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Our community, like all communities, draws its strength from difference.

Equity

We understand that historically underrepresented voices have faced disadvantages, discomfort, and misunderstandings in the traditional workshop. We strive to confront these imbalances through staff selection and training via sourced materials on cultural sensitivity and equity, by continually re-examining our admissions policies, and by surveying our participants for anonymous personal feedback. Our community will aim to listen intently to all concerns, to be free of judgement when doing so, and always to practice mindfulness and self-reflection.
