Ann Bancroft’s debut novel, Almost Family, was just published by She Writes Press on May 28th, 2024. It’s a tender and darkly funny story of a lonely, obsessive woman who meets two unlikely friends in a support group for Stage Four cancer patients. The three of them ditch the group and form their own — The Oakland Mets (for “metastases”) aiming to enjoy life toward its end and not talk about cancer all the time.
