David Morris is a former Marine infantry officer. From 2004 to 2007 he worked as a reporter in Iraq for Salon and the Virginia Quarterly Review. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Best American Nonrequired Reading and The Wall Street Journal. His most recent book, released in January 2015 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is The Evil Hours: A Biography of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. The Evil Hours was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. He is currently an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he is launching an MFA program in Literary Nonfiction. He attended the Community of Writers in 2008.
