Juan Alvarado Valdivia is a Peruvian American writer who was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. He is the author of ¡Cancerlandia!: A Memoir. He received his MFA in creative writing from Saint Mary’s College of California. This upcoming winter, he will be a resident at the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts.
