Bee Sacks is the author of novels The Lover (HarperCollins) and City of a Thousand Gates (HarperCollins), awarded the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize, a silver medal from the Commonwealth Club of California for first fiction, and longlisted for the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize. They are the recipient of grants and fellowships from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Elizabeth George Foundation, the Rona Jaffe Foundation, and the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. Sacks is a graduate of the Programs in Writing at the University of California, Irvine, where they were awarded the Henfield Prize and a Mellon-Sawyer Documenting War Fellowship. A Ph.D. candidate at UNLV, they live on the West Coast with their dog, Pupik.
