Rusty Morrison‘s After Urgency won Tupelo’s Dorset Prize (forthcoming in 2012). Her book the true keeps calm biding its story won Academy of American Poet’s James Laughlin Award, the Northern California Book Award, Ahsahta’s Sawtooth Prize, and the Alice Fay DiCastagnola Awards from Poetry Society of America for a manuscript-in-progress.Whethering, won the Colorado Prize for Poetry. Her chapbook, The Book of the Given, will be published by Noemi Press this year. She has received the George Bogin, Cecil Hemley, and Robert H. Winner Memorial Awards from Poetry Society of America. Morrison has also won the Patricia Goedicke Prize in Poetry from Cutbank,the University of Montana’s literary magazine.
