From this self-awareness, they can move into self-compassion and learn to give themselves the care and support they may have lacked.

Fiction Participant, '14He has a new book, Comedy Writer, about techniques and habits of mind for humor writing. The paperback is half craft, including exercises, and half information about markets. It covers TV, monologue, animation, stage and print, expanding on an undergrad course Andrew taught at UC Davis as Artist in Residence in 2019. Andrew was also the former head writer for Johnny Carson.

Escape is a sequel to his award-winning novel Castro’s Curveball.
